I need to wear orthotics due to faciatis. This shoe has ample room for them. And yet they don't feel big and boxy. When they say they are waterproof - they mean it. I've gone through snow and rain and my feet are always dry. I am currently wearing my 5th pair of these shoes. I'll keep wearing them as long as they keep making them. Overall:

I switched from New Balance to these due to declining quality materials used more often in the New Balance(foam???). The Rockport has the leather top. Even if it was simulated, it would be better than foam! The cushioning part of the shoe is excellent and is great for walking and standing for a good period of time. I've had them on today for 12 hours and walked/stood for most of the day. Great shoes.
